Task: Reclassification To see this in PennWorks...click herehere Task Definition: Reclassify an employee record. In this task – Update the information required for a Job Reclassification In PennWorks, once you have completed the ‘Find/Add a Person’ search, you can select the Reclassification from the Roles/Distributions tab 1 Steps – From the Task drop-down list: Select Reclassification Update appropriate fields as required For salary changes to staff, H.R. Compensation enters the new salary in the Annual Amount or Hourly Rate field, you only need to accept the change* Add/update Distributions accordingly See the Add/Update Distributions task for details *Compensation Change Control Policy - Salary changes for staff with a Position Inventory Number must be authorized in advance by Human Resources Compensation if the change is outside of the annual Merit Increase Program. H.R. Compensation will enter the new salary amount and notify you as to when you can accept (i.e. process) the change.Compensation Change Control Policy

2 From the Roles Summaries drop-down list, select Reclassification Click on Reclassification to advance to the next slide Task: Reclassification (cont’d)

Update Role and Distribution information as required Click [Submit] to complete Employees subject to Compensation Control cannot have their salaries changed without preapproval from H. R. Compensation Once H. R. Compensation has approved the change, accept the new salary amount by updating the Job Class Code, Class Entry date and Distribution, and click [Submit]
