Have you got a camera? Yes, I have./ No, I haven’t. N.B. We can use contractions with (‘ve got) but not with (have). I’ve got a sister I have a sister. (I’ve a sister)

9 Have/have got When have+ noun expresses an activity or habit do/does/don’t/doesn’t (have) Not have got. Ex: I have a shower in the morning I’ve got a shower in the morning What time have you got lunch? What time do you have lunch? He has never got milk in his coffee. He never has milk in his coffee.

10 Have/have got In the past, the got forms are unusual.
We use: had + did and didn’t more common Ex. I had a bicycle when I was young. My parents had a lot of books in the house. Did you have a nice weekend? I didn’t have any money when I was a student.

But, how do they find the US when they first arrive? What do they think of the people, the culture, the way of life? Jamie Peterson spoke to three of them:

But & However contrast ideas, but used differently. Ex. I learnt French easily, but I didn’t like my teacher. I learnt French easily. However, I didn’t like my teacher. ______________________________________________________

Ex. It started to rain, so we stopped playing tennis. Because Result Cause Ex. We stopped playing tennis because it started to rain.
