System Overview
5
Project Specs: Interface User selected time operation time. Wireless sensors-cannon communications.
6
Project Specs: Operation 2 week+ battery life. Detect Deer and Elk at least 200 feet away from sensors. 300 ft sensor-cannon communication range. Sensors communicate to all cannons in range. Random cannon detonation interval. Operate in a variety of terrains & vegetation.
7
Project Specs: All Weather Withstand temperatures from -10°F to 120°F in direct sunlight. Operate in snow and rain.
8
Project Specs: Size Sensor: Weigh less than 2 lbs. Smaller than 5”x5”x5” (not including mast). Control Unit: Weigh less than 5 lbs Smaller than 10”x10”x5”
9
Project Desirables Interface Network select option. On/Off switch Operation Use existing gas valves with solenoid modification.
11
Sensors Completed: Upgraded Whip Antenna Modified NEMA IV Enclosure Sturdy Design Larger and Heavier than Anticipated To Do: Add Power Switch Incorporate Battery Tray Build Remaining Housings
12
Sensor Modification Original Sensor/TX Module Modified Sensor Module Enclosure
13
Wireless Network Topology
14
Solenoid and Valve Completed: Solenoid Operates Valve Controlled with MC via H-Bridge To Do: Test with pressurized line.
15
Receiver & Controller Completed: Toggles Solenoid Accepts Trimpot Input To Do: Add Power Switch Wire to Receiver Add Receiver Input Activation
16
Receiver & Controller Operation Dial Select detonations per sighting. On/Off Switch Channel Select Feature built into Glolabs parts
17
Controller Network Concept 7 I/O pins required for our design
18
Performance 6654 Successful Detonations Equivalent to 554 animal sightings (worst case). Better performance using non-generic batteries Recommend lithium AAs Receiver 1in wider than specified. Still need to calibrate sensors/measure range.
