Warm Up: Find the IV, DV, constants and control. A scientist wants to see if the soil will yield more potatoes if the soil is fertilized more often. He chooses three identical plots of land and plants the same amount of potato tubers in each. Plot 1 does not get fertilizer, Plot 2 gets 1lb of fertilizer and Plot 3 gets 2lbs of fertilizer. After 100 days, Plot 1 grew 75 potatoes, Plot 2 grew 125 potatoes and Plot 3 grew 150 potatoes. IV: Amount of fertilizer DV: Amount of potatoes yielded Constants: Plot size/soil composition etc. Control: Plot without fertilizer
