Entrance Requirements
6 GCSE passes at grade C or above Must include English and a Biological Science (or dual award science) And …Three full A levels grades A, B, B or above must include Biology, Chemistry is strongly recommended International Baccalaureate 34 including Biology and preferably Chemistry

Entrance Requirements
NVQ level lll in Dental Nursing in lieu of one A level subject, 2 A levels – one must be Biology Some work experience in dentistry – observation of a dental hygienist/therapist is expected IELTS grade 7.0 if English is not the first language

Satisfactory health clearance Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and report

Vocational Qualification
Dental Hygienists and Therapists need to work with a flexible team approach; to have good communication skills and to demonstrate a high level of manual dexterity in order to undertake complex oral treatments Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the General Dental Council

Applications close 15 January in the year of entry Shortlisted applicants are invited to interview – multiple mini interview for 2014 Interviewees are expected to be familiar with the role of the Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist within the team We take 28 students a year

Modular course (all modules compulsory) Theory: lectures, tutorials, small group, self- directed learning, computer assisted learning Clinical: phantom head and patient care Intensive course, lots of hands on

Fees This is a collaborative programme managed by Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust and validated by the University of Birmingham There are no fees payable Students from England and Wales are eligible to apply for a means tested bursary from Department of Health Students may also be eligible to apply for a student loan from the LEA
