TECH508- Champion Step Business Case – Why this Project? The project can be done within 10 weeks The project has an extremely likely chance of succeeding The project will improve customer satisfaction dramatically. The project will indirectly affect revenue as more projects can be done by less personnel and in a shorter period of time, thus allowing for support revenue sooner. – Why now? This project should be implemented first, allowing more time consuming and expensive processes up the line the ability to utilize this project as a template.

TECH508- Champion Step Problem Statement – What is the problem? The AMI implementation process utilized by Project Managers – Where is the problem? The problem is not geographically based but internal to the processes driven by the implementation – When was the problem found? Q1 of 2014 – How much is affected? The entire process of integrating an AMI solution into the Customer Billing System (CIS).

TECH508- Champion Step Problem Statement Continued – How do we know a problem exists? Transition to support > 2 months – Missing out on revenue Project queue > 10 – Customer satisfaction – Missing out on revenue No succession planning No internal documentation – Leads to queue and support issues No structured customer training/documentation – Customer satisfaction

TECH508- Champion Step Project Objectives – Project Manager is able to handle < 15 implementation projects at any given time – Project Manager is able to transition a project to support < 2 months – Project Manager is able to maintain a project queue < 5 – Structured, internal process documentation has been created and distributed – Structured customer training and documentation has been created and utilized

TECH508- Champion Step Goal Statement – Eliminate the queue time for utilities and reduce the amount of time, less than 2 months, necessary for a project to be successfully implemented, within the given 10 week timeframe.
