Objectives of WP7 Transfer new knowledge for the operation of small and large sized biorefinery facilities Education of future engineers and researchers on biorefinery systems Enhancement of the spreading of excellence to undergraduate students, new engineers/scientists and experienced engineers/scientists Organization and elaboration of training schools and workshops for the building of high qualified Biorefinery Systems Engineers skills in Europe Creation of a transnational training network aimed at improving the career perspectives of ESRs and ERs in both public and private sectors

Content and structure of the training programme The training will be provided at four different levels: i)Individual ii)Local iii)Network iv)International

Individual training Personal Development Plan: Record of the goals to be achieved by the researchers (a)Research skills and techniques (b)Research environment (c)Research management (d)Personal effectiveness (e)Communication skills (f)Networking and team working (g)Career management Key aspects for consistency of the training across all the Network teams i ) All ESRs will be registered in a graduate school with the aim to obtain a PhD at the end of the 36 months appointment ii) all researchers will be expected to be involved and receive training on at least 3 areas (WPs) of the RENESENG project iii) all researchers will ideally have three secondments during their appointment, ONE of which will be with one of the industrial partners iv) the SiCs have agreed that general rules of laboratory practice, record keeping, reporting and dissemination of results will be standardised throughout the network.

Local training One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS-credits ESR will be required to accumulate: 30ECTS from their home institution 20 ECTS through secondments at partner institutions 10 ECTS through their attendance in Network training schools and workshops ESR will be assigned a research topic which will cover some of the deliverables of the RENESENG project ERs will be tailored to each individual, on the basis of their career development plan. All researchers will be able to acquire teaching experience by contributing to undergraduate teaching activities, including practical classes, after receiving the required training.

Network training Industrial and complementary training of ESR and ER. All fellows of the RENESENG project will spend at least 1 month at one of industrial partners Network meetings will provide an ideal arena for fellows to present their results, exchange ideas and experiences and discuss secondments between members. Training schools Secondments and visits to other network teams Specialised Workshops will be organised by the partners and will be open to external participants Webinars and Weblabs

International training Participation in international conferences ESCAPE and PSE Conferences will be hosted jointly by DTU in 2015 Webinars and satellite meetings will be organised by the network before or after the conference Collaboration with other networks, research institutions and industrial enterprises (not involved in the proposed RESENEG ITN)
