California’s uninsured population under the age of 65 is 7.1 million as of 2011. Many are employed but won’t get employer based coverage, Or can’t afford coverage through the new market place, Covered California. CCHI supports SB X1 1/AB X1 1 because passage is necessary to ensure the expansion takes place in time for January 1, 2014 so California’s uninsured population will be able to receive affordable health care coverage.
