Competition Key Knockouts
16
The KODAK i700 Series Scanners In-Market Alternatives
Rated Speed vs. Actual Throughput: 120 ppm Rated Speed decreases by 31% in one-sided mode and 72% in two-sided 200 dpi, and decreases 51% in one-sided mode, and 85% in two-sided 300 dpi. Specific image quality features that contribute significantly to the Fujitsu scanners throughput decline include blank page detection, deskew, auto cropping, and AO/AR. Additionally, speed declines to 100ppm with VRS. 140 ppm / 120 ppm Rated Speed (for 8140/8120 models) decreases by 25% with B&W two-sided document scanning, and 74% with color two-sided document scanning with deskew, auto crop, and AO/AR features turned on at 200 and 300 dpi. 130 ppm Rated speed = Throughput Speed, for B&W Scanning, Color Scanning, Grayscale Scanning, and all Features enabled, including AO/AR, Dual Stream output, Mixed Batch scanning, and all Image quality features including color dropout, deskew, blank page detection and cropping. FUJITSU 5900C BBH Spectrum KODAK i780 128 ppm Rated Speed decreases significantly in all scenarios that involve duplex and any resolution above 200dpi. For example, scanner slows to 52ppm with 200dpi, bitonal, duplex scanning, for a reduction in throughput speeds of more than 50% from rated speed. At 300 dpi, bitonal, duplex, speed slows down to 38ppm, for a reduction of 90ppm from its stated rated speed – or a reduction of 70%. Canon DR X10C Kodak scanners perform all functions at rated speed, with no performance penalty for color imaging, Perfect Page processing and our new automatic rotation feature. Not all (if any) of the competitive scanners can make this claim. KODAK i700 Series Scanners
