4. CONTEXT: School Products There has been much concern related to the quality of food products/meals served to students in school canteens. The ‘healthy school dinner’ campaign has brought about many positive changes. A school canteen is to launch a new and exciting range of food products to appeal to 11-16 year olds. Focus on one (no more) of the healthy eating guidelines. Design Task 1 Design and make a nutritionally balanced product that could be sold as part of a ‘themed day’ or ‘celebration’ at your school.

5. Homework Task 1: Can you find an article that can make the context more real? E.g. can you add anything to it that you already know about your school meals, or healthy eating for 11-16 year olds? Don’t put in too much or you will be doing research before you have started on the research task! Task 2: Create your own mind map using the key words (in yellow) of the context and task.
