1 INSTRUCTION MANUAL NVS CCE Automation Software 2012
NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI, NEW DELHI NVS CCE Automation Software 2012 INSTRUCTION MANUAL Prepared & Designed by Shri.Jiji Mathew C, O.S, JNV Udupi Cell : , Web:

2 Preface CBSE has introduced CCE in Class VI to X from the year There are a number of records of evaluation to be maintained by the teacher and it has been found that record making manually is a herculean task. So I have tried to make a simple programme in Microsoft Excel by which the record making can be automated. I am humbly submitting this software to my Parent Department, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. On this occasion I would like to thank Shri. T.C.S Naidu, Joint Commissioner, NVS, New Delhi, Shri. G Arumugam, Asst. Commissioner(Acad), Shri. K.V Suresh, Principal, JNV Udupi and Smt. Rosemol T.J, Vice Principal, JNV Udupi for the advice, help and motivation extended for the successful completion of the programme “NVS CCE automation software 2012” Jiji Mathew C Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU

3 Acknowledgement Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU
NVS CCE Automation Software 2012 is a simple program in Microsoft Excel prepared for the automation of record maintanence of CCE at the Vidyalaya level. It was presented in the conference of Assistant Commissioners (Acad) held at NLI Renga Reddy on chaired by Shri. T.C.S Naidu, Joint Commissioner (Acad). In the discussions that ensued, it was decided by the NVS, to implement the software in 6 JNVs (W.Godavari, E.Godavari, Renga Reddy, Bangalore ®, Udupi & Chickmagalor) as a pilot project during the academic year And if the result of evaluation in the above JNVs are found to be successful, it will be implemented in the Hyderabad Region during the academic year , following which it will be implemented in all the JNVs across India. As per the decision, the software has been provided to the selected JNVs for implementation & evaluation. All suggestions, advice, errors & omissions found etc are welcomed for the improvement of the programme. We belive : “WORK IS WORSHIP” Jiji Mathew C Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU

4 General Instructions Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU
Don’t try to crack the program, since it has a lot of macros, formulae, links from hidden sheets, rows & columns Don’t delete/add any col. Or row in any sheet. Don’t change the names of the sheets, rows & columns It has formatted for legal paper to be printed on laser printers. The Report Card can be printed in legal size on both sides Grade points should be given whole numbers like 5,4,3,2,1. Wherever drop down menu is provided, selection must be done from the drop down menu only. Basic data (Names of the Classes, Teachers etc) should be filled in the Home Page & Student Profile page only. Doubts if any may be cleared from the instruction manual only for trying to repair yourself may lead to complications. Suggestions, advice, errors & omissions if found, may be ed or communicated through the guest column of my web site. Jiji Mathew C Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU

5 The Main Objectives of the Program :
To reduce the redundancy of data entry – profile of students, marks, grades, descriptive indicators etc are to be entered min 3 times in Report Book, Result Register, Observation sheet, which can be avoided. To get maximum arithmetical accuracy in the calculation of Grades, Marks etc. To make the documents presentable with suitable formats. To avoid wastage of stationary: As per the existing system each student’s records have to be maintained in 47 pages. ie 47 * 40 students = 1880 pages per class 1880 * 10 classes= pages per JNV But using this programme: 280 pages per class * 10 = 2800 pages only required for a JNV which will save almost 16000/- per JNV. If this is implemented in 500 JNV * 16000/- = 80 lac. rupees can be saved on stationary in addition to the savings in man power. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU
