The Case for Physical Activity
Physical inactivity is the fourth most important risk factor for poor health nationally Nearly 1 in 4 adults fail to achieve even 30 minutes of activity each week Physical inactivity costs the UK economy approximately £7.4 billion every year An active workforce can reduce days off sick by up to 27% and broader absenteeism by up to 20%. Physically active employees are less likely to suffer from major health problems, less likely to take sickness leave and less likely to have an accident at work. Role of healthcare professionals in promoting physical activity
