The Parthenon was a temple dedicated to goddess Athena, the protector of Athens.

The Olympic games originated in Greece. When they were held, wars stopped. Only men were allowed to take part in the Games.

Ancient Greeks liked the theatre and there were some famous playwrights like Aristophanes. Only men played in theatres wearing masks. Also there was a group of people playing the part of ordinary people called ‘choros’. The most popular ancient theatre was in Epidaurus.
