3  The curriculum that we follow is curriculum for excellence.  It runs from age 3-18.  Levels Early - Pre–school and P1 or later for some First - To end of P4 but earlier or later for some Second - To end of P7 but earlier or later for some  8 Curricular areas Numeracy and Maths, Literacy, Health and Wellbeing, Expressive Arts, Social Studies, Science, Technologies and Religious and Moral Education.

5  Reading Structure  Spelling – Rules  Writing – 3 rotations, CTG  Handwriting - Berol Cursive Script

6  Numeracy and Maths (Differences)  3 Numeracy Lessons,1 Maths and 1 Problem Solving per week.  Groups, rotations, games, mental maths activities.

7  HWB – Health Education, PE  EA – Music, Drama, Art and Dance.  SOC – People, Past Events and Societies i.e. Egyptians - People, Place and Environment i.e. Scotland/Malawi - People in Society, Economy and Business i.e. Christmas Enterprise  TCH - Computer Technologies  SCN - Forces, Electricity and Nature i.e. – The Body and Senses - Biological Systems i.e. – The Body and Senses  RME - Christianity i.e – The Birth of Jesus as a Journey

8  Specialists – Art, Dance and PE.  Can you please ensure all belongings are labelled. This includes jumpers, gym kits and gym rubbers.  Money should always be sent in a labelled envelope.  Any tuck shop money should come in a labelled purse or wallet.  Water bottles should be filled with water only.

9  All children are expected to wear a jacket to school in the winter months.  We actively encourage the school uniform and would appreciate your support in this.  Earrings may be taped up or taken out for PE.  Gym kits are to be kept in school from Monday to Friday.  Ensure your child brings their reading folder to school every day.

10  We actively promote positive behaviour and set high expectations of all children throughout the school.  This year we are reviewing our behaviour procedures.  The positive approach benefits all learners and we constantly encourage good manners, politeness and a good attitude.
