Raise attainment and achievement in numeracy & mathematics over the next 3 years reflected in improved PIPS scores and pupil feedback Ensure consistency and continuity in teaching and learning and develop our tracking of pupils’ progress Provide pupils with 2 hours of quality PE each week Continue to engage everyone in an ethos of respect within our school community, using UNICEF ‘Rights Respecting School’ – achieve Level 1 award

Raise attainment and achievement in numeracy & mathematics over the next 3 years reflected in improved PIPS scores and pupil feedback Long-term project – no instant results but TWC has begun the improvement Pupils very engaged with maths and numeracy Numeracy Academy – teacher involvement 4 teachers involved in research project looking at how to support pupils with problem solving 1 teacher looking at how we can develop pupils ability in ‘applying their knowledge in meaningful context’ More P7 pupils involved in University Maths Challenge Initial feedback from parents at maths event positive

Ensure consistency and continuity in teaching and learning and develop our tracking of pupils’ progress Education Scotland ‘moderation project’ Observation of maths and PE teaching in all classes Use of data to track pupils progress – reading, spelling, maths check-ups and teacher activities Input for all staff on staged assessment process Early intervention activities to support those at risk of missing out – reading, handwriting, motor group, speech&language, phonics, fine motor skills, rhyme group in nursery, social skills Challenge groups in reading and maths Very positive results in spelling and reading for 5 months PIPS testing in P7, P5,P3 and P1 begun Pupils awareness of ‘next steps’ and ‘how to get better’ is improved. E.g. PE ipad

Provide pupils with 2 hours of quality PE each week All classes observed 3 x PE training activities planned for teachers PE policy and programme will be created by staff in April to ensure consistency Creating ‘Outside PE lessons in a Box’ Education Scotland funding for project using ipads to produce improvements in performance and to develop pupils skills in PE

Continue to engage everyone in an ethos of respect within our school community, using UNICEF ‘Rights Respecting School’ – achieve Level 1 award Playground, dining room and whole school charters and every class produced their own charter at the start of term in August. RRS steering group have produced a ‘calendar of rights’ Submitted our Recognition of Achievement – first step to assessment for level 1. Assemblies to explain rights and how they apply to them as pupils Class activities with teachers linked to Fairtrade, P4 linking RRS to project on India, P5 linking RRS to enterprise project, P7 linking RRS to Scotttish Parliament, P2 Wateraid UNICEF – Day for Change - Friday 16 th May 2014

Development of Dunbar Primary School as a ‘Rights Respecting School’ where pupils understand the UNICEF convention of the Rights of the Child and this becomes central to the ethos of our school. Developing school charters – playground, dining room and whole school Assemblies to explain rights and how they apply to them as pupils Class activities with teachers linked to Fairtrade too. Homework activities for pupils and parents to work on together – Easter UNICEF – Day for Change - Friday 3 rd February 2012
