9 EU Coverage on Westlaw CELEX - the official legal database of the European Union Westlaw is much more up-to-date than CELEX. Our information is updated daily; The EU information on Westlaw is cross-referenced and integrated. When you find a Directive you can retrieve an overview of all cases based upon this piece of legislation. When you retrieve a case you will also be able to read commentary on this case published in legal journals. WLI contains inline links: all documents mentioned within another document are hyperlinked. This makes it possible to view this other document using the Linkviewer.

10 EU databases on Westlaw The EU database is divided into 6 broad categories (excluding Current Awareness): Treaties (EU-TREATIES) - primary legislation from 1951 All Treaties concluded between the EU Member States, which constitute the legal framework of the European Community (includes founding treaties, accession treaties, supplementary treaties etc.) Legislation (EU-LEG) - secondary legislation from 1952 Regulations, directives, decisions, recommendations, opinions (non- binding) as published daily in the Official Journal L Series Case Law (EU-RPTS-ALL) - primary law From two Courts: - Court of Justice (from 1954) - Court of First Instance (from 1989) - plus UK law reports published by Sweet & Maxwell from 1865
