FP7-SEC-2007-1 4 SGL for USaR Main Objectives Solve critical problems following large scale structural collapses in urban locations Develop technology for early location of entrapped people in collapsed buildings The strategic objective of “SGL for USaR” is to build the critical mass of researchers, enterprises and end users and lead the R&D in technology of USaR Main tools: Experimental work for establishing human signatures Devices development and field validation Algorithms for data processing integration and software development
5
FP7-SEC-2007-1 5 SGL for USaR The science and technology The science SGL for USaR pursuits establishing human signatures across a wide range of signals such as: Chemical Sound Video Another challenging task is identifying: Signatures of dead bodies and hazardous conditions in the collapsed structures
6
FP7-SEC-2007-1 6 SGL for USaR The science and technology The technology Information, communication and sensors technologies are used for: delivering systems and devices that are pushing forward the USaR operations develop smart algorithms develop specialized software The key element in using these technologies is the integration that allows for acquisition and short out of different types of signals with the scope of increasing the accuracy of the information and the reduction of the time needed for searching for victims.
