Replacement of cable trays: 0D110 Control Cables (I) Cables in cable tray 110 : identification in progress. – Some cables are old. – Difficult to follow in the cable trays. – No info of the use. Cables: – C4E75: LEP TDM project, is it still alive? – NE4?: – CB50: routing not according to thecâblothèque. – NE48? Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08

Replacement of cable trays: 0D114 Control Cables (II) Cables in cable tray 114 : identification in progress. Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08

Replacement of cable trays: 0D117 Control Cables (III) Cables in cable tray 117 : identification in progress. – Difficult to follow in the cable trays. – Cables at the end of forbidden zone. (Pump system (CV), radiation monitor, emergency lights, plugs, lighting system…) – Cables entering in the ventilation pit? Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 Red door

Replacement of cable trays: Control Cables Summary (IV) 34 cables to re-install Total cable length = 3701 m 6 cables in the “forbidden zone” Users: – Vacuum: 1 cables – RP: 1 cables – BMP detectors: 18 cables – Intercom:3 cables – Magnets: 3 cables – Telephone (sec.+normal+alarm): 3 cables – Others : 5 BT cables not included: lighting, security lighting, AUG, pumps (CV), plugs, … Remaining work: – 4 cables in cable tray 0D110 – 7 cables in cable tray 0D114 – Re-check cable passing to TT20/end TDC2. Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08

New cables installation requests + temporal cable 18 cables to install Total cable length = 2985 m 4 cables in the “forbidden zone” Users: – Vacuum: 15 cables – RP: 2 cables – ABM detectors: 1 cable Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08

Cable consolidation (I) Near the splitter 2: – 50 or 60 new cables to pull. No possibility to redo connectors – They will be replaced in LS2 Best solution: wait to LS2 Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 Home made box (vacuum) – Redo the box in a proper place. – Home made cables to reinstall and to be included in the câblothèque.( 4 short cables) – In LS2, new cables can be installed from surface.

Cable consolidation (II) 3 cables pulled by user up to BTV925 – Are they needed? – New cables to re-install porperly? Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08

Cable consolidation (III) Cable to remove: – MDFP230707: 6 cables – MDFP230710: 6 cables – Easy access – Removal up to TA801 (to be re-used in the future if it is needed) – No interference with other cables. Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08

Magnets cables joints Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 From “Magnets” Draft EDMS 1260733 12 connections of as shown in the document (6 under MBN V071 and 6 under MBN 067) have been found. Solution:“Manchonnage”

Time Estimations

Low Voltage works James Devine – EN/EL/BT – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 Scope: Replacement of all obsolete and non-compliant systems. – Lighting (Normal & Emergency) – Power distribution (Socket outlets) – Fixed appliances (Cranes, transport rails) – AUG buttons Reversed sequence of installation: – Install new – Remove old

Normal Lighting James Devine – EN/EL/BT – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 Provide minimum 100 Lux illumination at floor level throughout TDC2/TCC2. 50% de-rating for radiation impact on luminaires. 58W T26 Fluorescent lighting within TDC2, long life tubes and ferromagnetic ballasts to resist radiation. 207W LED High-bay lighting within TCC2, power converters installed in CV Mezzanine to reduce radiation dose.

Emergency Lighting James Devine – EN/EL/BT – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 Provide 1 Lux illumination along escape routes 50% de-rating for radiation. Comatelec LEDs within TDC2 and TCC2, custom radiation resistant design specific for CERN. Additional Thorlux LED fittings installed on TCC2 catwalk for illumination of beam line bridges.

Power Distribution James Devine – EN/EL/BT – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 Install rationalized electrical distribution for socket outlets in vicinity of beam line Remove obsolete equipment and cables where possible. Agreement on positions with users required. OLD NEW

AUG buttons James Devine – EN/EL/BT – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 Existing cabling + buttons are life expired. Replacement with new cables and CERN specific AUG button. Rationalise AUG placement to minimise dose (installation and operation). OLD NEW

Sequence of works James Devine – EN/EL/BT – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08 1.Pulling of new cables arriving to TT20/BA20/TDC2(4.5m) 2.Emergency Lighting Installation 3.AUG Installation 4.New Lighting & Power installation 5.EL/CF cable tray removal/installation activities 6.Final removal of obsolete equipment

Conclusions Identification must be finished. The preparation of the work is quite advanced. Procedure to work in safety condition must be finished (grounding) The work in the splitter zone implies high doses New dose survey is needed for a better calculation of the dose. Some more work is required to reduce the total dose. Ivan Moya Martinez– EN/EL/CF – WP 31st Meeting 2014.04.08
