EducateNXT Enter the name “Sound Graphing” for your experiment. Real-time Data Logging Click the Switch to NXT Data Logging icon in the top-left corner of the NXT-G screen. Then press Go >>.

EducateNXT Real-time Data Logging Select Sound Sensor. Click the green Play button. Plug in a Sound sensor to Port 1 on the NXT Brick.

EducateNXT Real-time Data Logging Y axis dB (decibels) x-axis Time (sec) Actual Data readings Data-logging Tools Graph should look something like this.

EducateNXT Data-logging Tools Zoom Move the graph around. Predict Analyze statistics and so forth. Write on the graph. Screen shot

EducateNXT Data Logging the EduBot Start a new experiment. Select Rotation Sensor. Select Port B. The motion of pushing the EduBot can be graphed.

EducateNXT Data Logging the EduBot Graph the movement of the EduBot as it is being pushed. Forward – Constant Backward – Constant Accelerate and then decelerate.

EducateNXT Use the Scaling Mode to resize your graph. Some things to try...

EducateNXT Some things to try... Graph two motors at once. Then try pushing the robot in a curve turn.

EducateNXT Some things to try... The Prediction Tool Create your own graph and try to copy the motion by pushing the EduBot.

EducateNXT Logging the Line Follow What does a Light sensor see when the EduBot follows the line? To find out, add a Datalog block to a Line Follow program.

EducateNXT Logging the Line Follow Single Sensor Line Follow program with Datalog block at the start

EducateNXT Configuration Panel for Line Follow Datalog block Logging the Line Follow Note: Light Generated box checked Download the program to the EduBot and run (Orange button x4). Once run for at least seven seconds, upload the data from the Data Logging screen.

EducateNXT Show the Teacher! Try data logging as part of a program: Line Following with two Light sensors The Ultrasonic sensor, attached to the EduBot, approaching a wall The Sound sensor, attached to the EduBot, approaching a constant sound source A Light sensor, attached to the EduBot, approaching (and facing) a constant light source
