What is Great Britain? Great Britain (GB) is the largest island in Europe. It has a population of over 60 million people. Great Britain, together with Northern Ireland is called the United Kingdom (UK).

Food: The Sunday Roast Every Sunday thousands of British families sit down together to eat a big meal with roasted meat served with roast potatoes, vegetables and other foods.

British Tea Culture The most popular tea in Great Britain is black tea and is usually made with milk.The tea is often accompanied with scones, jam and clotted cream which is called Devonshire tea.

Sports:Rugby There are two types of rugby in GB, one is called rugby league and the other is called rugby union. Rugby league is more popular in northern England but rugby union is played more in the rest of GB. Famous British rugby player Jonny Wilkinson

Sports: Cricket The Ashes is a Test cricket series played between England and Australia since It is one of the most celebrated rivalries in international cricket and is currently played biennially, alternately in England and Australia. Sports: Football Football is the most popular sport in GB. Some of England's football teams are world famous, the most famous being Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.
