EDUCATION: 2010 BENCHMARK Current Land Requirements for School: Computing for School Building Space Requirement: 359+211 = 570 x 90 sq.m. per classroom = 51,300 sq.m. + 30% ancillary space = 66,690 sq.m. Computing for School Campus Land Requirement: 66,690 sq.m. x 2 = 133,380 sq.m. or 13.34 hectares for Elem. & HS

PLANNING BENCHMARK PLANNING BENCHMARK EDUCATION: Projection for 2015 (5 years hence) Elementary School Population (ages 7-12 years): 35,522 35,522 ÷ 40 students / classroom = 888 ÷ 2 shifts = 444 classrooms Additional Classrooms Needed: 444-359 = 85 High School Population (ages 13-16 years): 19,138 19,138 ÷ 40 students / classroom = 478 ÷ 2 shifts = 239 classrooms Additional Classrooms Needed: 239-211 = 28 College Population (ages 17-22 years): 25,311 – assumed to be absorbed by schools in Metro Manila (The Plan is to encourage prestigious universities to locate a branch in San Mateo.)

EDUCATION: 2015 Additional Land Requirements for School in 5 years: Computing for School Building Space Requirement: 85 + 28 = 113 x 90 sq.m. per classroom = 10,170 sq.m. + 30% ancillary space = 13,221 sq.m. Computing for School Campus Land Requirement: 13,221 sq.m. x 2 = 26,442 sq.m. or 2.64 hectares additional for Elem. & HS

HOUSING: 2010 BENCHMARK Total population: 211,138 ÷ 5 (average family size per household) = 42,228 households As per MJE Report : Projected no. of households for 2010 = 31,794 Difference: 10,434 households Plus emerging households (female ages 25-39) = 25,377 households Total Difference: 35,811 households Current Land Requirement for Housing: 42,228 + 25,377 = 67,605 x 250 sq.m. (area of housing unit)= 16,901,250 sq.m. or 1,690 hectares

HOUSING: 2015 Total population: 263,494 ÷ 5 (average family size per household) = 52,699 households Plus emerging households (female ages 25-39) = 28,333 households Total Households: 81,032 Additional Land Requirement for Housing in 5 years: 81,032-67,605 = 13,427 x 250 sq.m.
