Enbridge pipe renewal to start in 2009

5 LP Traffic Task Force – Survey Approach Raised $6,800 to fund traffic calming initiative Survey had 30-40 questions – open ended & specific Received feedback on concerns and possible solutions 300+ responses from base of 1,500 residents Analyzed data using Knowledge4You Corp. software ($2,000) Hired UMA Engineering Ltd. as independent traffic consultants ($3,600) Task force met with City Traffic Department and Councillor Jenkins (April 4, 2008) Reviewed survey findings and proposed solutions Discussed options and timeline for project planning

16 Next Steps – Solution Development City to conduct studies of problem intersections (by priority) Mt. Pleasant/Lawrence, Yonge/Lawrence, Blythwood/Bayview Review meeting mid to late June City to propose potential solutions (need sidewalks) Stop signs Turn restrictions Speed humps Pinch points, chicanes Traffic circles Road closures Review draft options Review proposals with City and Task Force in fall 2008 Town hall to present proposal to residents in early 2009 Engage independent consultant throughout process Easiest Most Difficult

17 Next Steps – Solution Development (cont’d) Task force and Councillor Jenkins to meet with Glendon College regarding land for bus stop adjacent to ramp Bayview bridge reconstruction delayed until 2009 Plan to determine availability of land by June 2008 Bike Lanes City approved plan for bike lanes in 2001 Ward 25 to bike lanes will be on Lawrence and Mt. Pleasant Bike Lane Review Meeting to be held April 23, 7:00 pm at Banbury Community Center Broader Public Hearing – Mid to late May 2008
