Graduate Studies in Computer Science oMasters Curriculum (2 years) 24 credit units in courses (1 st year=credits, 2 nd year=thesis) 1 credit=~15 course hours 8 mandatory credits 16 credits in elective courses Two Monographs (2 nd and 3 rd quarters of first year) MSc Thesis Proposal Defense by end of 1 st year Thesis checkpoint – paper+presentation by middle of 2 nd year MSc Thesis Defense by end of 2 nd year PPGCC- PUCRS

Graduate Studies in Computer Science oPhD Curriculum (4 years, under implementation) 36 credit units in courses (12, if after an MSc degree) 10 mandatory credits 26 credits in elective courses Three Monographs (2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th quarters) Qualifying exam by middle of 2 nd year Thesis proposal, by end of 2 nd year Thesis checkpoint – paper+presentation by end of 3 rd year PhD Thesis Defense by end of 4 th year PPGCC- PUCRS
