Sponsored by the National Science Foundation 8 March 16, 2011 Programmatics Solicitation 3 –Expected announcement – Summer 2011 –Excellent proposals for GENI-racks, enhanced WiMAX, regionals, and backbones –Plus funding for tutorials, “summer camps”, etc. Ramp down of Solicitation 1 efforts (autumn) –Some prototyping efforts will sunset as Sol 1 funds run out –Many will continue under Sol 2 / 3 funding –Others have funds remaining, will receive extensions Annual evaluations coming again (summer) –Reminder: these are engineering subcontracts, not grants –Assess progress against project milestones –May shift funding from under-performers to strong efforts
