www.ofi.at 5 Project at ofi – Xenohormones in FCM Xenohormones - not in nature occurring hormonally active substances such as phthalates, bisphenol A and phenolic antioxidants Xeno-Project: The aim is to perform comprehensive material comparisons of food contact materials (FCM) to detect estrogen-active substances with highly sensitive trace analysis

www.ofi.at 16 Australia / New Zealand – Handling with BPA Different studies have raised potential concerns that BPA exposure may cause multiple health problems. However the overwhelming weight of scientific opinion is that there is no health or safety issue at the levels people are exposed to. The Australian Government has introduced a voluntary phase out of BPA use in polycarbonate baby bottles. www.foodstandards.gov.au
