1 SCM-Tempus Project C015A05 Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Niš, March 24th, 2006 The Bologna Process at the University of Dortmund, Germany Transition to the Bachelor – Master System at the Faculty of Informatics Claudio Moraga European Centre for Soft Computing, Asturias, Spain University of Dortmund, Germany claudio@moraga.de

2 The ECTS at the University of Dortmund Faculty of Informatics Preamble: The prevailing programs of Computer Science and Computing Engineering at the University of Dortmund still follow the 5 years German Diploma The modular structure is based on “semesters“ Student‘s workload is measured based on hours of presence per week during a semester. One hour of presence implies no less than 1.5 hours of personal study. © cm

3 Transition from hours/week/semester to credit points: Lectures, laboratories and exercises 1 hour/week/semester = 1.5 credit points Seminars 1 hour/week/semester = 2 credit points © cm
