www.unisdr.org 3 Recommendations for promoting and strengthening PPPs>> extract from regional action plan 3 Conduct regional training on methodologies of cost-benefit analysis of DRR and develop business contingency plans ; Regional study on DRR expenditure and set/define targets at national and local development budgets; KL Initiative on promoting PPP on DRR in the region; Advocate during specific business conventions and include business leaders in regional mechanisms on DRR; Regional training courses on developing business contingency plans : Organize regional workshops on catastrophic risk insurance for finance, DRR and corporate sector; Organize regional workshops with micro-finance /micro credit sector to support DRR Initiatives;

www.unisdr.org 4 Recommendations for promoting and strengthening PPPs>> extract from PPP Framework Multi-stakeholder consultation and roundtables; Develop principles and guidance for PPPs in DRR; Design and launch an interactive online database, providing information on case studies, capacities, gaps etc. Establish at least two demonstration PPPs; Establish industry-led working groups at sub-regional level; Raise visibility and advocate – road shows, conferences, media engagement and briefing events; 4
