Regoverning Markets Workshop, Warsaw 4-7.04.2006. 14 Operational issues – Steps For comparabilty of data (p.17): a) Starting point - semi-structured interviews with the relevant food industry segment identifying key issues related to chain governance including specific contractual arrangements with the farmers, production and post-harvest technology requirements and income implications. b) The second step - focus on wholesalers support services provided to the farmers directly by the wholesalers or through third parties.

M2) key wholesalers, middlemen, private service providers, government agencies and community leaders will be identified. d) Semi-structured interviews with private service providers and relevant government agencies identifying support strategies that do or do not facilitate farmers participation in the supermarket channel.
