Two methods used I/O Transfer 1747 occupies 32 Input Words and 32 Output Words 1 word of input, 1 word of output used for module status and command 62 words available for devices Intended for devices transmitting small blocks of information Proximity and Photoelectric Switches “Slice” I/O Valves

MLC 9000 Gateway Converts DeviceNet Messages from Scanner into Modbus Messages to Bus Control Module Uses Polled Messaging for Implicit I/O Connection One Loop Control Module takes up 16 Bytes of Input and 6 Bytes of Output Uses Explicit Messaging to gain access to parameters not supported through implicit connection

Insert one Normally Closed Contact and Two Copy Instructions into Rung 1 Copy Instructions move data from M0/M1 Files to usable data areas

Last Rung Energizes Output Run coil and disables in event of error in module Download to PLC and place in Run Mode

To Configure Network, Gateway EDS file must be installed EDS (Electronic Data Sheet) carries configuration properties for DeviceNet products Start RSNetworx then select Tools-EDS Wizard

Select Register EDS File then select Choose File

Select A: Drive then select West0456 Click Open

Double Click on 1747-SDN and select Scanlist

Click on arrow to add Gateway to 1747-SDN’s scanlist Select edit I/O parameters

Adjust the Polled Rx and Tx parameters to match the number of I/O taken up by LCM’s 16 bytes of Rx and 6 bytes Tx for every LCM (up to 8 LCM’s)

To prepare for download, network connection must be established online first Click Network, then Online
