SENIOR YEAR Deadlines for college/university admissions College and career entrance requirements Writing personal statements Applying for financial aid, including our own CHS Scholarship Program Counselors meet individually or in small groups to discuss the application process

Ninth Grade Matters: Orientation Program Target: All ninth grade students (over 900) Goal: Students become familiar with the credit system of high school, graduation requirements, a-g requirements, college and career center, post high school options and understand the importance of good attendance, study skills and homework completion. All students develop a 4 year plan

Ninth Grade Matters: Orientation Program Content Guided tour of the resources available in the College and Career Center Informational presentation with handouts, a post high school option resource sheet, and a 4 year plan. 1 st week: Physical Education department gives the students a tour of the College and Career Center. 4 th week: Presentation and the completion of the 4 year plan is implemented in English/language arts classes. Ninth Grade Matters: At-Risk Program Target: Students who are academically at-risk (below 2.0 GPA) Goal: Personalize the high school experience, help students take further ownership of their high school career, identify why they are not being successful in school, and learn strategies for success. Academic success tips are taught
