2. Obligatory Salah is a time-bound worship

3. Allah (SWT )says in the Quran;
When you have finished As Salah, remember Allah standing and sitting and (lying down) on your sides, but when you are free from danger, perform As Salah.
Verily, As Salah is prescribed for the believers at fixed hours.
(Surah An-Nisa, 4: Verse 103)

4. Allah SWT says in the Quran;
So bear patiently (O Muhammad SAW) what they say, and glorify the praises of your Lord
before the rising of the sun,
and before its setting,
and during some hours of the night,
and at the ends of the day
that you may become pleased with the reward which Allah shall give you.
(Surah Ta-Ha, 20: Verse 130)

5. Jarir ibn 'Abdullah(RA) narrated that the angel Gabriel came to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)and said to him,
"Stand and pray," and they prayed the noon prayer when the sun had passed its meridian.
He then came to him for the afternoon prayer and said, “Stand and pray," and they prayed the afternoon prayer while the length of a shadow of something was similar to the length of the object.
Then he came at sunset and said, "Stand and pray," and they prayed the sunset prayer when the sun had just disappeared.
Then he came at night and said, "Stand and pray, “and they prayed the night prayer when the twilight had disappeared.
He came again when dawn broke (and they prayed the Morning Prayer).

6. Hadith Cont.
Then Gabriel came on the next day at noon and said (to the Messenger of Allah), "Stand and pray," and they prayed the noon prayer when the length of the shadow of something was close to the length of the object.
Then he came for the afternoon prayer and said, "Stand and pray," and they prayed when the shadow of something was twice as long as the length of the object.
Then he came at the same time (as the previous day) for the sunset prayer, without any change.
Then he came for the night prayer after half of the night had passed ("or," he said, "one-third of the night").
Then he came when the sky was very yellow and said, "Stand and pray," and they prayed the Morning Prayer.
Then Gabriel said, "Between these times are the times for the prayers."
(Ahmad, Nasai, Tirmidhi and Bukhari remarked that this is the most authentic hadith giving the times of prayer.)(Fiqh of Sunnah Vol.1:83)

7. Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (RA), The Prophet (PBUH) said:
The time of the Zuhr (noon) prayer is when the sun passes the meridian and a man's shadow is of the same length as his height.  It lasts until the time of the Asr (afternoon) prayer.  The time of the Asr prayer is as long as the sun has not become yellow (during its setting).  The time of the Maghrib (sunset) prayer is as long as the twilight has not disappeared.  The time of the Isha (night) prayer is up to midnight.  And the time of the Fajr (morning) prayer is from the appearance of dawn as long as the sun has not risen

10. Fajr – from dawn until sunrise
Zuhr – from when the sun passes its zenith until the length of an object’s shadow is equal to the true length of that object
Asr – from when the length of an object’s shadow is equal to the true length of that object until sunset
Maghrib – from sunset until redness in the sky disappears
Isha – from when the redness in the sky disappears until the middle of the night

12. Contradiction on End time
Abdullah b. 'Amr(RA) reported
the Apostle (may peace be upon him) saying: The time of the noon prayer(lasts)as long as it is not afternoon, and the time of the afternoon prayer (lasts) as long as the sun does not turn pale and the time of the evening prayer (lasts) as long as the spreading appearance of the redness above the horizon after sunset does not sink down, and the, time of the night prayer (lasts) by midnight and the time of the morning prayer (lasts) as long as the sun dots not rise.
Narrated by Abu Hurayra(RA):
Allah's Apostle said, "If anyone of you can get one Rak'a of the 'Asr prayer before sunset, he should complete his prayer. If any of you can get one Rak'a of the Fajir prayer before sunrise, he should complete his prayer."

15. Salah is forbidden during the following periods:
 1. Immediately before sun rise for about 5 to 7 minutes.
2. Just at noon for about 5 to 7 minutes.
3. Immediately after sun set for about 5 to 7 minutes.
People used to bow to the sun that is why these times have been forbidden.

Narrated 'Uqba bin 'Aamir (RA): There are three times at which Allah's Messenger (PBUH) used to forbid us to pray or bury our dead: (a) When the sun begins to rise till it is fully up, (b) when the sun is at its height at midday till it passes the meridian, and (c) when the sun draws near to setting till it sets (Muslim)

17. Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (RA): I heard Allah's Messenger (PBUH) saying: "No prayer is to be offered after the morning (Fajr) prayer until sun rises, or after the afternoon (Asr) prayer until the sun sets" (Bukhari and Muslim)

Time passes quickly.
Time that passes can never return, nor can it be compensated for, for time is irretrievable.
Time is the most precious thing that we possesses.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who has failed a grade. To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who has given birth to a pre-mature baby. To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask an editor of a weekly newspaper. To realize the value of ONE DAY, ask a daily wage laborer who has kids to feed. To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet. To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who has missed the train. To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who has avoided an accident. To realize the value of ONE MILLI-SECOND, ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.

20. Realize the value of one missed Salah
"Narrated Ibn ‘Umar (RA): Allâh’s Messenger (PBUH) said: "Whoever misses the ‘Asr prayers (intentionally), then it is as if he lost his family and property." {Bukhari}
If you are at your tuitions or at your friend’s house that is no excuse to miss your salah.

Ibn Masood (RA) once asked the Prophet (PBUH),“which act does Allah (SWT) like the most?” He replied, “To offer Salah on time.”
Then he asked “Next to this” The Prophet replied, “To be good to parents.” “
He again asked, “Next to this?” The Prophet replied, “To fight in the way of Allah (SWT).”

The Prophet (PBUH) said: The person who went to sleep before offering Isha prayers was having his head crushed by stone. {Bukhari}

26. Aishah(RA) said, the Prophet (PBUH) said: Whoever caught one prostration of the Asr prayer before sunset, or of the morning prayer before sunrise, he has caught it (i.e. the prayer on time) {Ahmad, Muslim, Nasai & Ibn Majah}

27. Praying missed Salawaat
Anas bin Malik(RA) narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “If anyone forgets a salah, he should pray that salah when he remembers it. There is no expiation except to pray what was missed.” Then he recited: “And perfom salah for My remembrance.” {Bukhari}

28. I don’t have TIME!
This is our chronic problem – NO TIME ….. Rushing around, but think ….

29. Abu Qatada, Bin Rab’I(RA) narrated that the Prophet , said, “Allâh the Exalted said:
‘I made five times (daily) prayers obligatory on your people. And I took a guarantee that if anyone observes them regularly at their times, I shall admit him to Paradise. If anyone does not offer them regularly, there is no such guarantee of Mine for him.’”

"There are five Prayers which God has prescribed for His servants. For those who perform them properly, without disrespectful omissions, there is a guarantee that God will admit them to Paradise. To those who do not observe them, however, God offers no such guarantee: He may punish them or He may admit them to Paradise, as He wills."

You must have heard the mayonnaise jar story – if our 5 salawaat are five large stones, we put them in the jar of our day FIRST, then put pebbles and sand as fillers for the rest of the day and alhamdulillah plenty of room for everything. If we fill the jar with pebbles and sand FIRST then try to add the stones there will be no room for the stones ….

36. Ibn Abbas (RA) narrates:
One night I stayed overnight in the house of my aunt Maymoonah, and said to myself, “I will watch the prayer of Allah’s Apostle.” My aunt placed a cushion for Allah’s Apostle and he slept on it in its length-wise direction and woke-up rubbing the traces of sleep off his face and then he recited the last ten verses of Surah Al-e-Imran till he finished it. Then he went to a hanging water skin and took it, performed the ablution and then stood up to offer the prayer.

This was for Tahajjud. Rasool Allah(PBUH) used to be sleepy but that couldn’t stop him from saying his prayers on time.

37. Masnoon Invocation for waking up
Al'hamdu lillaahil lazi a'hyaanaa ba'damaa amaatanaa wa ilayhin nushoor
All Praise be to Allah Who gave us life after having given us death and(our) final return (on the Day of judgement) is to Him.

38. Try to wake up for fajr by trying all means
Try to wake up for fajr by trying all means. Set an alarm, ask your mom to wake you. Ask a friend of yours to give you a call. Use all means. There is no excuse to miss your salah.
