It is possible to work with one chart of commitment items and to apply only a fraction of the commitment items of the chart to a FM area and fiscal year. There is no need to work with all commitment items of the chart. The commitment items of the chart you apply per FM area and fiscal year can vary. Steps: 1. Define chart(s) of commitment items. 2. Assign a chart of commitment items to FM area and fiscal year.

The hierarchy within a year is fixed. Commitment item hierarchy can be copied from one financial year to the next financial year. After copying the commitment item hierarchy, the hierarchy can be changed in the new year.
