Pick a review topic In groups of 3-4 (depending on number of students and to cover all standards): Create Google presentation covering standard (include vocabulary) 1.Reviews topic thoroughly (divide up tasks at start – put names to paper) 2.Provides example problems and time to work through as a class 3.Everyone in the group should be an expert on the topic and be able to answer questions posed by class/teacher during presentation Create practice worksheet with answers Share presentation/practice with individuals in class via Google
2
5.1 Absolute Value Equations and Inequalities I can solve an absolute value equation or inequality. This means I can ◦ split the absolute value into 2 equations ◦ graph the solution on a number line (inequality) ◦ show algebra steps ◦ test the solution Vocabulary List absolute value, absolute value equation, absolute value inequality
3
5.2 Rational Expressions and Equations 5.2 Rational Expressions and Equations (A2.2.C) I can simplify a rational expression. This means I can ◦ factor numerators and denominators ◦ cancel common factors when appropriate ◦ create common denominators when appropriate I can solve a rational equation. This means I can ◦ use a fraction buster to eliminate the denominator ◦ show algebra steps ◦ check for extraneous solutions Vocabulary List rational, fraction buster, common denominator, extraneous solution
4
5.3 Radical Equations (A2.2.C) I can solve a radical equation. This means I can ◦ isolate the radical ◦ square both sides/show algebra steps ◦ check for extraneous solutions
5
6.1 2D System of Equations (A2.1.A, A2.1.B) I can solve the system algebraically and graphically. This means I can ◦ identify the point(s) of intersection ◦ show the elimination or substitution step ◦ evaluate to find the other variable ◦ make a complete graph of the system ◦ use a system to model and solve a situation Vocabulary List system, elimination, substitution, point of intersection
6
6.2 2D System of Inequalities (A2.1.B) I can graph system of inequalities. This means I can ◦ graph the boundaries ◦ shade the correct region ◦ use dashed and solid lines/curves correctly ◦ use a point to test the solution ◦ use the system to answer a maximize/minimize question Vocabulary List solution region, boundary lines
7
6.3 3D System of Equations (A2.7.A) I can use algebra to solve a 3D system of equations. This means I can ◦ show the elimination or substitution step ◦ evaluate to find the values of the other variables ◦ use matrices Vocabulary List 3D coordinate system, plane, matrix, inverse matrix, property of matrices, scalar, identity
8
7.1 Polynomial Functions (A2.3.B) I can write and graph polynomial functions. This means I can ◦ use the roots to write a polynomial ◦ find real and complex roots ◦ use the roots to graph a polynomial Vocabulary List roots, zeros, complex roots, intercepts, synthetic division, polynomial division
9
7.2 Imaginary Numbers (A2.2.A, A.2.3.C) I can work with imaginary numbers. This means I can ◦ graph a complex ordered pair ◦ simplify expressions ◦ use i 2 = -1 Vocabulary List imaginary number, complex number, i, complex plane
