6. Supramult in pregnancy
The WHO RDA for pregnancy for Vit A is 10,000iu in geographical areas where Vit A intake is inadequate and not likely to improve
The FDA RDA for pregnant women is between 5, iu (This includes dietary intake)
Teratogenicity is seen from doses of 25000iu and above
The safety of Aloe vera and Lecithin have not been established in the first 3 months of pregnancy
However supplementary Vit A has been found to reduce Vit A deficiency anaemia and INCREASE hemoglobin concentrations in neonates. This was found to reduce pregnancy related mortality(30-50%), reduce ocular abnormalities and wasting
