Inspiration Inspiration flash cards Remember that your unit AVERAGES the two closest cells. Any deviation outside (above or below).15 of the average will cause an alarm or CELL WARNING. The following cards first depict a plain handset. Sometimes a notation of additional info is included. The card following with analysis and corrective action in yellow will have a slide “b” designation. Working these slides should help you to build intuitiveness into handset issue recognition. 5 CELL WARNING (SETPOINT 1.3) 2b CELLS 1 & 3 POSS STUCK Cells 1 & 3 average: 1.305 -.15 = 1.15 CELL 2 PROBABLY ACCURATE PERFORM DILLUENT FLUSH CHECK FOR SENSOR MOVEMENT

CELL WARNING (SETPOINT 1.3) BECOMING POSITIVELY BOUYANT 3

CELL WARNING (SETPOINT 1.3) BECOMING POSITIVELY BOUYANT 3b PROBABLE HYPEROXIA CELLS 1 & 2 PROBABLY STUCK CELL AVG: 1.285 +.15 = 1.43 GO TO O.C. FOR SANITY CHECK GO BACK TO REBREATHER DILUENT FLUSH CHECK PO2 REPEAT UNTIL PROPER PO2 OBTANINED IF PO2 REMAINS HIGH; BAILOUT

CELL WARNING SETPOINT.70 BOUYANCY DOES NOT SEEM TO BE CHANGING 5

CELL WARNING SETPOINT.70 BOUYANCY DOES NOT SEEM TO BE CHANGING 5b CELL AVG:.785 -.15 =.835 EITHER STUCK OPEN SOLENOID PERFORM DILUENT FLUSH OR DID YOU JUST ASCENDED 50 ft? AND SWITCHED FROM HI TO LOW SETPOINT MONITOR PO2 MONITOR OR ADD SMALL AMT OF DIL CONTINUE TO MONITOR PO2 CLOSELY

HIGH OXYGEN (SETPOINT 1.6) 6

HIGH OXYGEN (SETPOINT 1.6) 6b EITHER STUCK OPEN SOLENOID OR DESCENDING SHOULD NOT BE DESCENDING ON 1.6 SETPOINT DO NOT DESCEND!! SWITCH TO O.C. 2 BREATHS SWITCH BACK TO CC PERFORM DILUENT FLUSH CHECK PO2 REPEAT BAILOUT IF UNRESOLVED

LOW OXYGEN (SETPOINT.70) 7

LOW OXYGEN (SETPOINT.70) 7b STUCK CLOSED SOLENOID OR CLOSED O2 VALVE SWITCH TO OC, CHECK DISPLAYS, 2 BREATHS OC RETURN TO CC PERFORM DILUENT FLUSH CHECK PO2 CHECK O2 TANK VALVE & PRESSURE IF CLOSED OPEN AND USE ADDITION O2 VALVE MONITOR PO2 CONTINUE TO USE CC IF APPROPRIATE OR BAILOUT DO NOT ASCEND ON LOOP FROM 90 FT ON.39 /3.72 =.10

CELL WARNING (SETPOINT 1.3) 8

CELL WARNING (SETPOINT 1.3) 8b EITHER STUCK OPEN SOLENOID OR DESCENDING SHOULD NOT BE DESCENDING ON 1.3 SETPOINT DO NOT DESCEND!! SWITCH TO O.C. 2 BREATHS SWITCH BACK TO CC PERFORM DILUENT FLUSH CHECK PO2 REPEAT IF INDICATED BAILOUT IF UNRESOLVED

MASTER 1.3 1.24 1.25 1.28 BECOMING NEGATIVE AND HAVE MAINTAINED DEPTH. 9

MASTER 1.3 1.24 1.25 1.28 BECOMING NEGATIVE AND HAVE MAINTAINED DEPTH. 9b VALVE ON O2 TANK CLOSED OR SOLENOID STUCK CLOSED CHECK O2 PRESSURE GUAGE CHECK O2 VALVE IF CLOSED OPEN AND MONITOR MAY NEED TO USE MANUAL ADDITION BUTTON BE PREPARED FOR / CONSIDER BAILOUT

CELL WARNING SETPOINT 1.3 10 BOUYANCY CHANGING?

CELL WARNING SETPOINT 1.3 10b BOUYANCY CHANGING?

MASTER 1.3 11 ARE YOU BECOMING POSITIVE? OR NEGATIVE?

MASTER 1.3 11b ARE YOU BECOMING POSITIVE? OR NEGATIVE? DID YOU DESCEND SEVERAL FEET? You would become more negative. More positive buoyancy would be O2 addition. PERFORM DILUENT FLUSH MONITOR FOR CELL MOVEMENT REPEAT DIL. FLUSH AS INDICATED PERFORM BAILOUT PRIOR TO HYPEROXIC MIX. May need to shutdown O2 valve to remain neutral.

HIGH OXYGEN 1.58 1.62 1.61 (SETPOINT 1.3) 12

HIGH OXYGEN 1.58 1.62 1.61 (SETPOINT 1.3) 12b PROBABLE HYPEROXIC MIX STOP: DO NOT DESCEND CELL AVG: 1.615 GO TO O.C. FOR SANITY CHECK GO BACK TO REBREATHER PERFORM DILUENT FLUSH CHECK PO2 REPEAT UNTIL PROPER PO2 OBTAINED IF PO2 REMAINS HIGH; BAILOUT

Both handsets turned off at Depth 13

Both handsets turned off at Depth 13b Turn handsets back on DO NOT SELECT CALIBRATE Check unit readouts

Low Battery Warning on Primary 14

Low Battery Warning on Primary 14b Turn off Master Check that secondary has become Master Restart Primary which should now be slave The primary handset and battery drives the solenoid Switching should give you additional time to terminate dive.

Master 1.3.60.70.65 You have just completed a diluent flush @ aprox. 60ft. Which sensors are reasonably accurate? What could be the problem ? How best do attempt to resolve this problem? 15

Master 1.3.60.70.65 You have just completed a diluent flush @ aprox. 60ft. 1. Which sensors are reasonably accurate? 2. What could be the problem ? 3. How best do attempt to resolve this problem? 15b 1. Sensor 1 closest to accurate, 3 is next closest As long as the gas was analyzed and sensors correctly calibrated 2. probable water condensation on sensor faces. 3. Diluent flush should help dry the sensor faces Manual inject should keep condensation due to gas addition away from sensor faces.

If you are utilizing Air as diluent What should sensor readout be when you perform a diluent flush @ apox. 100ft ? 16

If you are utilizing Air as diluent What should sensor readout be when you perform a diluent flush @ apox. 100ft ? 16b (99 / 33) + 1 = 4 ata 4 x.21 =.84 Be prepared to calculate PO2 of diluent for at least each atmosphere.

You are at 120 fw and perform a diluent flush (diluent is.21) 1.02 1.05.97 Which sensor is most accurate? 17

You are at 120 fw and perform a diluent flush (diluent is.21) 1.02 1.05.97 Which sensor is most accurate? 17b 130 ft would be 5 ata 5 x.21 = 1.05 So # 2 and #3 are more accurate.
