WHERE DO YOU STAND? There are too many charities asking for money. Students should not be forced to do physical education Everyone must learn a second language. Marriages should be arranged by parents. Zoos are cruel. The animals should be set free. The school canteen should sell only healthy food.

Discursive Writing In Discursive Writing you argue and evaluate a topic. It is also known as Argumentative Writing. Some things you could argue include: School Uniforms The Royal Family Hunting Animal Rights

Writing your Discursive Essay 1. Pick a topic you feel strongly about. 2. Brainstorm Ideas for and against the topic. 3. Introduce your topic in an interesting way by including any background information that you have on that topic. 4. Argue FOR the topic using evidence 5. Evaluate the opposite argument 6. Write a conclusion where you summarise your views and restate your opinion about the topic.
