3. All About the Robonaut The robonaut (R2) was developed by NASA and General Motors. The robonaut will be an official resident on the International Space Station (ISS). The robonaut is designed to help fix any problems that occur on the ISS.

4. Tests Before the Robonaut can go into space, it needs to be tested in areas where there is low gravity, high radiation, and trained sensitivity. If all goes well, the robonaut is scheduled to lift as early as July 2 nd, 2010.

5. Why a Robonaut ? NASA will be able to control the Robonaut, so it will be very easy to control it from the space center. We would also save money for other things that we need, and not waste money to send astronauts up every month. In case of any accidents, it could help save a human’s life.
