2 2 IETF-Washington © 1999, Cisco Systems, Inc. Review of the Extension This extension differs from RFC2250 in two aspects –Base frequency for timestamp increase to 27MHz –Introduction of “piece-wise” CBR Timestamp for every MPEG transport packet can be derived Ready for VBR MPEG-compliant traffic

6 6 IETF-Washington © 1999, Cisco Systems, Inc. R2 R2 is a PC with DVB-ASI PCI card running Linux. Each R2 has two 100BT Ethernet ports RTP based on the draft, RTSP, and IGMP have been implemented at R2. Also, TOS field is programmable for all RTP packets

Environment at Sender Side A prototype system based on the extension is implemented and under test –RTP extension –RTSP/SDP to support the extension –Integration of RTSP and multicast The prototype system has tested under multicast environment as well

Qualitative Result Successful operation test –RTP receiver doesn’t process any RTP packet until SDP is obtained and verified through RTSP Compliance test –No MPEG warning generated from MPEG analyzer even with high network traffic load –PCR jitter is within +/-250ns Quantitative result on dejitter buffer will follow
