Activities and deliverables –Second Edition TTML 1.0 Recommendation; –A simple constrained profile for delivery of closed captions for video content –Recommendation for a new Timed Text Markup Language (TTML) 1.1 specification to include. A Technical Report on the application of TTML in HTML5 Description of TTML intermediate synchronic document as HTML5. Description of TTML presentation syntax and semantics relating to CSS3. A Technical Report on the application of TTML in live production and streaming.

4 © 2012 SMPTE · The 2012 Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition · www.smpte2012.org SDP-US The Simple Online Delivery (US) profile is focused on streamlined delivery of closed captions on the Internet. –support core TTML features to deliver content originating from legacy formats such as CEA-608 and -708 content, –targeted primarily for delivery in US markets. 3 guiding principles for online delivery of closed captions originated in the United States: –Promote interoperability. –Provide mandatory functionality based on a specified set of TTML features. –Constraints on usage of a specified set of TTML features. Key input from SMPTE 24B In time to support new FCC rules

Additional font and outline styles. –Issues for consideration: 3D positioning. Smooth animations (e.g fade), forced display, spacing control
