Introduction When customers want to use IP-Phone (*) mainly for extension and they want to use E1 or more than 2 PRI as trunk, KX-NS1000 version 2 with new trunk adapter is recommended because KX-NS1000 supports more IP capacity and IP functionality than KX-NCP or KX-TDE. Introduction Stacking Card On the other hand, when customer has Panasonic PBX now, they can add IP capacity and IP functionality using KX-NS1000 version 2 with stacking card KX-NS0130 with keeping current PBX. This configuration is useful for new customer also when they need more SLT phone, Digital PT with DSS Console, Analog PT and analog CO as well as IP-Phone. Conditions - Cards in right table are not supported. Reason is as follows MPR is not required IP feature is supported by KX-NS DISA/SVM feature is supported by KX-NS without AK New cards for TDE-NCP version 5 are N/A. - By above condition, KX-NT400 and KX-HGT100 cannot be used after connecting with KX-NS IP capacity AK is not required for trunk and extension in existing PBXs because these are not IP. - Other AK such as CA is required in KX-NS1000 for extension in existing PBX. - In case of TDA100/200 and TDE100/200 OPB3 card with ECHO16 must be installed in only Slot 1. *) Other cards except OPB3 or OPB3 card with other daughter board except ECHO16 can be installed to any slot. Programming It is not required to program for connection (Same as TDE600 to TDE620 connection). Property of cards in TDE/NCP can be programmed using NS1000 Web.

14 18. Recommendation of Configuration
KX-NS1000 is recommended as follows, when new customer does not have Panasonic PBX now and they want to use IP phone mainly for extension. Back-up is available automatically for SIP trunk incl E1 / PRI adapter, KX-NT/UT IP-phone and one look connection. PRI/E1 or SIP Provider Back-up master PBX works as slave PBX usually. 24 Chapter 3 Concept of Programming for Public Connection

25 31. Concept of Programming - Adapter
The trunk adapter is PBX with E1 / PRI trunk and SIP extension. SIP trunk of KX-NS1000 is registered to SIP extension of the adapter. <Programming for the trunk adapter> Software of the adapter is basically same as KX-NS1000. Features except E1 / PRI and SIP extension are removed. Therefore programming method is very similar to KX-NS1000. E1/ ISDN - PRI configuration is same as programming for KX-NS1000 PRI card (KX-NS0290). E1 configuration is same as KX-TDE E1 card (KX-TDA0188) SIP extension configuration is same as KX-NS But SIP extension is programmed by default to 430 for E1 / PRI to 423 for PRI23 PRI E1 / PRI Trunk Adaptor SIP Extension 30ch or 23ch ID SIP Trunk KX-TDA0188 PRI Card KX-TDE KX-NS1000 KX-NS0290 25

26 32. Concept of Programming – NS1000
<Programming for KX-NS1000> The trunk adapter is basically SIP provider for KX-NS1000. Following has to be programmed. - IP address of the adapter as SIP server destination - SIP registration User ID (Password is not required.) - Connection Attribute : SIP Provider / Trunk Adapter E1/ ISDN E1 / PRI Trunk Adaptor SIP Extension 30ch or 23ch ID SIP Trunk KX-NS1000 26

27 33. Concept of Programming - Call
<Programming for KX-NS CONT> Programming of the trunk adapter is not required for DDI / DIL incoming call from E1/PRI to SIP extension. It works like DIL 1:1 without programming and DDI number and caller ID are informed from the trunk adapter to KX-NS Programming of KX-NS1000 is required for DDI / DIL. Outgoing call is also programmed for KX-NS1000 instead of the trunk adapter. Therefore administrator has to access only KX-NS1000 to change extension number, DDI and so on after dealer installed. 29 41. Initialize Operation and “SYSTEM” LED display is as follows. 1. Power On (Connect AC adapter or connect LAN with PoE) (a) Amber On (5 sec) (b) Amber rapid flash (5 sec) 2. During (b), keep pressing Initialize button for 1s. (c) Off (2 sec) (d) Amber On (30 sec) (e) Amber slow flash (120 sec) (f) Green slow flash - Display of (b) finishes before 5 sec after operation of (2). - Display of (f) means success of initialization and awaiting “Easy set-up” of web maintenance console. If LAN setting is changed, (1) Remove the trunk adapter from LAN (2) Connect it to actual customer’s network. (3) Connect PC to IP address of trunk adapter using Firefox. KX-NS In Service Set In Service. - Other programming such as ARS, TRS is basically same as PRI for KX-TDE/NCP. - However it is required to program as next 2 pages additionally because I/F with trunk adapter is SIP. E1 / ISDN Trunk Adaptor KX-NS1000 When E1/PRI line of trunk adapter is fault, trunk adapter stops communication with KX-NS1000. Therefore the SIP trunk ch of KX-NS1000 becomes fault. This specification is useful not to use the SIP ch automatically for ARS and so on. 52

53 58. KX-NS Dialing Plan Dialing plan has to be programmed for outgoing call because I/F with trunk adapter is SIP en-block dial. Otherwise extension caller has to wait for 10 seconds to hear ring back tone after dial to E1/PRI trunk adapter. Trunk Adaptor Trunk Adaptor KX-NS1000 53
