What is LEO? LSHTM Ethics Online Online ethics application system Used for staff and students at LSHTM – Merges staff ethics form (E1) with MSc student CARE form Application: https://leo.lshtm.ac.ukhttps://leo.lshtm.ac.uk

Logging in for the first time Click new user Does NOT use your standard LSHTM log-in (eg SRESPHEN), but can use LSHTM email with same password Help, FAQs, contact

Registration Note: Case-sensitive Log-in for system Currently have a character limit of 50

Getting started Click on create project

Short title Short title will appear in summary lists of projects

Start your project Click to start working on project

Navigation screen Short title Sections to complete Greyed out means not applicable (Will change depending on answers provided) Click to get started Transfer sends to another user. Will not be able to edit. Share allows collaboration on form with two users working on it at the same time. Print generates a pdf that can be saved locally

Signatures Student requests 1. signature from supervisor then 2. Course Director. They will need to log-in to sign. *Signatories need to have an account. Make sure before requesting* *If form shared with supervisor, supervisor can sign directly without student requesting signature*

Last Step If complete and signed, click submit for it to be submitted to cmte. Notification will be sent to applicant *Further editing at this point will invalidate signatures*

Timelines Application deadline: 4 April 2014 Time for MSc ethics review: – 4 weeks for standard projects – Might take longer for complex projects or projects involving vulnerable participants
