CHS Physics Motion in Two and Three Dimensions
2
Position The position of an object in two or three dimensions is given by a position vector. The vector is anchored at the origin of the coordinate system.
3
Displacement This is still the change in position. Written as a vector equation.
4
Velocity The definitions remain the same They are only written in vector notation.
5
Instantaneous Velocity The direction is always tangent to the path. It can be written in unit vector notation.
6
Acceleration Same as before
7
Instantaneous Acceleration This can also be written in unit vector notation
