A little about me… 10 th year of teaching Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction

My goal is to create a respectful, caring environment where all students can succeed. Our classroom rules are simple. We treat others as we would like to be treated. Positive behavior system.

Literacy Reading and Writing in a workshop format Book log- goal is to read at least 10 pages of reading daily 40 in 4 th Reading Challenge Word Study- new words come home on Monday-test on Friday

Different grading procedures depending on assignments: Some assignments are reviewed and recorded as completed, but not graded. This will be indicated by a star or smiley face. “CT” = Corrected Together/Completed Together Some assignments will have point values awarded (ex: +14/15) BDPS system (beginning, developing, progressing, secure) Grading

Birthdays Treat policy-the district policy prohibits us from accepting food as a birthday treat. Students will celebrate by going to the office to say the pledge and choosing a book.

Thank you! Before you leave... 1. Please place- Freezer Bags & tissues on Guided Reading Table. Art shirt in your numbered baggie. PE shoes in cabinet under your mailbox. All other supplies should go in your desk. 2. Make any necessary changes to the Student Verification sheets, or initial if okay. I will take them when you are done. 3. Parent-Teacher Conference sign-up sheets are located on the tables in the MPR. 4. Volunteer sign up sheet online Thanks for attending! I look forward to a wonderful, productive school year!
