The Beginning Began on Jul 28, 1908 at Cornell University. Animal nutritionists representing 13 agricultural experiment stations and USDA formed permanent organization with focus on animal nutrition research. Plan for organization presented during International Livestock Exposition in Chicago that fall. American Society of Animal Nutrition was formed on Nov 26, 1908. Name changed to American Society of Animal Production in 1915. Official name became American Society of Animal Science in 1961. Animals, Science and Service
