EDTEC 544 Prototype 35 Tide Pool Explorers focused on Cognitive Load Group 5 Heather Jennifer Stefanie Rudy Protect Play! Explore Begin > Behaviorism > Constructivism Part 1 Part 2 > Cognitive Load Screen NameContent Presentation Screen NotesTo reduce the learner’s cognitive load, we focused on maximizing our media’s capabilities for our young audience. This led us to remove the text that had been blocking the pictures and replace it with audio. Because the learners are 5-10 years old, their reading skills are likely to be developing, not fluent. Our cognitive load reducing changes allow these learners to easily and fully understand the feedback and free up valuable screen space so they can see the pictures better. Because the app is on an iPhone, the sound quality is excellent.
