2. What is the Christopher Award? It is an award presented to books that have affirmed the highest value in human spirit. What does “highest value in human spirit” mean? It means that the book has a message that inspires people in positive ways, such as showing courage, passing on tradition, or reconnecting with family values. Is it only for children’s books? No, there are various categories based on age, such as preschool, ages 6-8, ages 8-10, ages 10-12, and young adult. Also, films and television shows can also win the award. Who created the Christopher Award? It was created by Father James Keller, who founded The Christophers organization in 1945. How are winners selected? People can nominate books and winners are selected by a panel of judges. Where can I nominate a book? You can go online to www.christophers.org and submit the book.
