BY FAITH ISAAC
3
Hebrews 11:20 “By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future.”
4
The first hardship was a famine.
5
Then a second hardship was great financial success.
6
The third hardship was opposition from other people.
7
He called this first well “dispute.”
8
The same thing happened at a second well, so he called it “opposition”.
9
He called the third well “Rehoboth” which means “the Lord has made room for us.”
10
He goes one well further-one well further than he had to go. Beersheba
11
When he got there God came to him and reconfirmed that He was going to fulfill the covenant made to Abraham in the life of Isaac.
12
Genesis 26:28: “We have certainly seen that the Lord is with you. So we said, Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you that you will
13
do us no harm since we have not touched you, and since we have don nothing to you but good and have sent you away in peace. You are the blessed of the Lord.”
14
Now they had more than enough water because they had two wells.
15
Do you remember the importance of Beersheba in the life of Isaac?
16
The Lord sends hardships into all our lives. They come everyone’s way but just in different forms.
17
God has charted our life’s journey.
18
Because of that you can know that EVERY hardship has a purpose.
19
Maybe someone here today needs a Beersheba moment- a moment when the Lord assures you that He is with you and that He wants to bring victory into your life.
20
God fulfilled His promise to Abraham in the life of Isaac. But it also took the obedience of Isaac to allow God to work His plan out in his life.
21
Today we are passing on our legacy of faith to you graduates. But God requires you to be obedient so that He can work His plan out in your life.
22
Where is God leading you?
