LANITEIO LYKEIO A’ Laniteio Lykeio A’ is the oldest school of our city. It was founded in 1819 by a group of residents who loved Greek education.

In 1950 the school was moved to its present premises, donated by a prominent Limassol citizen called Nikolaos.P.Lanitis. His statue can be seen in the atrium.

In 1975 the school was divided into two three-year cycles, the Gymnasium and the lyceum.

Lanitio Lykeio A’ is a unified state lyceum, which offers a three-year cycle of specialised education to students 15 – 18 year old. Students can choose subjects in the seconds and third grade. On completion of the third year, successful students are awarded the School Leaving Certificate (Apolyterion)

In the school year 2010-11 there are 570 pupils 166 pupils are in the first grade 216 pupils are in the second grade 188 pupils are in the third grade There are 10 classes for grade A 9 classes for grade B 8 classes for grade C

Lanitio Lykeio A’ is the coordinating school for all high schools in the district of Limassol.

Lessons begin at 7:30 and finish at 13:35 Each period lasts 45 minutes Students attend 7 subjects a day breaks : 9:00 (10 minutes) 10:45 (20 minutes) 12:40 (10 minutes)

Since 2006, the Musical Lykeio Marios Tokas operates within Lanitio Lykeio A’.

The students are involved in many extracurricular activities Participation in competitions, athletic games and social events. Organising and presenting many events. Participating regularly in conferences. Involvement in European and International exchange programmes since 1991.
