4 The IB Diploma Programme is designed as an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students, normally aged 16 to 19, for success at university and life beyond. 13 Programme of Choice yearly costs are: Grades 9 and 10: $275. Grades 11 and 12 Diploma Programme Courses: 1 course- $50 2 courses- $100 3 or more courses- $275. Exam fees: (Grades 11 and 12) Exam fees are calculated according to the number of exams minus the programme fee paid in September. For example: 5 Grade 12 exams= $650-$275 Diploma fees equal approximately $375

14 Grade 9 and 10 Foundations students are expected to undertake the entire programme. Grade 10 numbers are brought up to 120 students by application. At the end of Grade 10, IB students are expected to continue as full Diploma students or may choose to pursue individual Diploma Programme Courses (individual IB subjects). Access to the IB Diploma programme courses in grades 11 and 12 is open to any PMSS student who qualifies through teacher recommendation but is limited by availability.

15 Step 1: Determine the best choice to meet your educational needs. Step 2: Obtain a copy of the application package from PMSS. Step 3: Complete all parts of the application package and, if possible, be sure to include teacher report in the sealed envelope signed by the teacher.

16 Step 4: Submit completed application packages to PMSS by the deadline – 4 pm on Thursday, January 24 th. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Step 5: Proceed with your regular programming at your assigned secondary school. DO NOT register for Cross Boundary transfer. If accepted to the IB, we will take care of this for you.

17 Step 6: Attend the testing session Saturday, January 26 th, 2013 from 8:30am to 1:00pm at PMSS. Step 7: All applicants will be notified by email indicating whether their applications were successful or not, beginning February 14 th, 2013. Students who are offered a seat will have until February 20 th to accept and return the Statement of Commitment to PMSS by email, fax or in person. A waiting list will be kept until September in the event that openings become available over the course of the year.

18 Step 8: Attend Course Selection and Registration session at PMSS on February 21 st at 7 pm.
