2  A resume is a factual representation of your skills, abilities, background  Your resume should highlight any of your qualifications/skills related to job openings  Chronological resumes are preferred by most Employers  Recruiters spend AT MOST 20-30 seconds reviewing a resume

3  Font styles - Arial, Times New Roman, or Calibri  Font sizes between10-12 (Name can be larger) Margins should be.8 - 1.0” wide  CAPS, bolding, underlining and bullets make it easier to read  Print on cotton bond paper (white or crème)  One page only, unless you have significant previous experience; then two pages at most  Remember recruiters spend between 20- 30 seconds on any given resume!

4  Include keywords found in job openings  Do not use the words me, my or I  Use short phrases beginning with action words  Periods are not needed  Do not use acronyms (ie: BBA)  Make sure you use correct grammar, tenses and spelling  Use spell check and have someone else review it before you turn it in
